First and foremost I am doing this on the Alton Telegraph’s website. The layout is rather plain, but it’s easy to see the buttons that help navigate from page to page due to them being in color where others are not. This helps because it automatically brings your eye to the light blue color over the white background.
The advertisements are on the top, left, right, and bottom of the page. All of the content is in the middle more or less. They have videos on their site and also have pictures. They cannot use that many pictures in their print copy because they are limited to space, so they have “unlimited” amount of space to load videos and pictures on their website.
As far as I see there are no real relationship between the content and the advertisements. The advertisements I see are about AT&T and weight loss. There is an advertisement by Google which mentions Illinois sex offenders and arrest records. There are stories up on their site that are similar to that.
I think that this site is very simple, but it is easy to maneuver around. The substance of this site is mainly regional area, but they do sometimes have national new stories. The style is just plain old newspaper writing.
